Meet Tovi – A Gentle Soul Looking For Understanding 🐾

Tovi is a sensitive and thoughtful boy searching for a patient home that will give him the time and support he needs to feel safe. While he may be unsure around unfamiliar people, those who take the time to earn his trust will discover a loyal companion with so much love to give.

Tovi will require slow, appropriate introductions to new people and may need multiple meet-and-greets before he feels comfortable. He is looking for adopters who understand that confidence cannot be rushed and who are willing to let him progress at his own pace. A calm, patient approach and a good understanding of canine body language will be essential to helping him succeed.

One of the things that helps Tovi most is having another dog around. He gains confidence from canine companionship and would benefit greatly from living with a friendly, confident dog who can help show him the ropes. Tovi is looking for a quiet household with a moderately active lifestyle, where he can continue building positive experiences without being overwhelmed. Due to his sensitive nature, he would be best suited to a home with older children aged 16 years and over, or an adult-only household.

Tovi’s new family should be committed to continuing his training and socialisation journey. He will benefit from gentle exposure to new people, environments, sounds, and experiences, as well as ongoing work with basic obedience and leash walking skills. Confidence-building activities, desensitisation to handling and touch, and continued crate training will all help him develop into a more resilient and secure dog. We also recommend investing in some one-on-one training sessions to help Tovi build the foundations to cope independently when another dog is not present.

Tovi is not looking for perfection. He is looking for someone willing to see past his nerves and recognise the wonderful dog underneath. With patience, understanding, and consistency, this special boy has every opportunity to flourish into a devoted and deeply rewarding companion.
