Foster Experiences
Overview
There are many ways to help animals at AAPS, each providing a meaningful difference in the lives of cats and dogs in need. Whether you choose to volunteer, become a foster carer, donate, or join as a member, your support ensures rescued animals receive the care, love, and attention they deserve while waiting for their forever homes. Every action, no matter how small, contributes to creating a safer and happier environment for these animals.
Ways to get involved

Foster
Becoming a foster carer means you are providing invaluable support in caring for lost, abandoned and unwanted animals who need a second chance with a new family
Volunteer
Without volunteers, our shelter would be unable to save the thousands of animals we do yearly. Volunteering is a rewarding experience for both people and the animals in our care.
Become a Member
AAPS is a member-based not-for-profit organisation. We’re always looking to have engaged members so we can continue to fulfill our mission of helping thousands of animals every year. For $25 (or $15 concession), you will receive your annual AAPS membership.

Event Assistance
Help organise and run AAPS events, including adoption days, fundraisers, and community activities. Volunteers ensure events run smoothly, engaging the public and promoting animal welfare initiatives.
Op Shop Volunteering
The op-shops are a huge part of what we do at the AAPS, they help provide much needed assistance to our shelter and all the animals in our care. The op-shops can get busy, so you’ll be happy to be on your feet, sorting through donations, stocking shelves and of course, interacting with our loyal customers.
