Board & Governance

AAPS is guided by a committed Board of Directors who steward the organisation’s mission, ensure strong governance, and uphold the values that have shaped our work for more than 50 years. All of our board members volunteer their time to support AAPS.

Established by a group of passionate animal welfare advocates, AAPS has grown into a trusted, community‑based charity supporting vulnerable animals across Melbourne’s south‑east.

As a registered charity, AAPS receives no ongoing government funding and relies on the dedication of volunteers, donors, partners, and our local community. Strong governance ensures we continue to operate ethically, sustainably, and with the highest standards of care for every animal who comes through our doors.

AAPS’ Board is responsible for overseeing both compliance and performance, ensuring the organisation remains mission‑aligned, financially sound, and strategically positioned for long‑term impact.

AAPS is registered with the Australian Charities and Not‑for‑Profits Commission (ACNC) and you can view our profile here
