Shy At First, Fluffy Forever!
Fluffy is a gentle soul who is looking for a patient and understanding home where he can build his confidence at his own pace. While he can be shy and nervous when meeting new people, he is not aggressive and simply needs a little extra time to feel safe. With slow, positive introductions, Fluffy begins to relax and show his sweet nature. Once he has met you and gained some trust, he is much more comfortable approaching you in a friendly manner and enjoys familiar company.
This sensitive boy has been lovely to handle in the shelter environment. He is comfortable with touch and manual handling, tolerates collar grabs well, and is happy to be picked up when needed. Fluffy is still learning about life in a home and is not yet house trained, so his new family should be prepared to continue his training and provide plenty of encouragement as he settles in.
Fluffy would suit a moderately active household that can provide a balance of exercise, companionship, and downtime. He shows some interest in food rewards and can be playful with toys, making both useful tools for helping him learn and gain confidence. He would benefit from ongoing training and obedience work, as well as positive exposure to new people, environments, sounds, and experiences.
A quieter home without too much hustle and bustle would help Fluffy thrive. He may be able to live with another calm, easy-going dog who is happy to peacefully coexist, but he could also be equally content as the only dog in the home. Fluffy would be best suited to a family with older primary school-aged children who can understand and respect his need for gentle introductions. With patience, kindness, and support, this sweet boy has every opportunity to blossom into a loyal and loving companion.
