Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the AAPS

Our volunteer team, which currently stands at around 200, is one of the biggest assets to our shelter and provides essential assistance in caring for the animals the shelter houses. Without volunteers, our shelter would be unable to save the thousands of animals we do yearly. Volunteering is a rewarding experience, and our animals are the ones who reap the benefits of our volunteer community’s generosity. If you have any questions before applying, please feel free to contact Jamie, volunteermanager@aaps.org.au

To volunteer, you need to be:

  • Over 18 years old
  • Be able to commit to a regular shift

Please review the below current positions and hit apply if any of them are of interest. Please allow up to a week before being notified. We’re also a registered not-for-profit organisation with Centrelink for jobseekers.

Love retail, enjoy meeting new people on a daily basis and you absolutely love all things op-shop! Come and join the dedicated team of volunteers servicing our 3 op-shops at the shelter, Keysborough, Moorabbin and Cheltenham. The op-shops are a huge part of what we do at the AAPS, they help provide much needed assistance to our shelter and all the animals in our care on a daily basis! The op-shops can get busy, so you’ll be happy to be on your feet, sorting through donations, stocking shelves and of course, interacting with our loyal customers. You’ll also work very closely with our Op-Shop Manager.

Days available:

Moorabbin Op-Shop – Nothing currently available

Cheltenham Op-Shop – Nothing currently available
