Diagnostic Imaging and Internal Pathology

RADIOLOGY

AAPS vet clinic diagnostic imaging capabilities naturally include digital Xray. Digital Xrays allow veterinarians to examine a wide range of orthopaedic and soft-tissue structures in pets just like in human medicine. Digital Xrays are fast and provide high resolution results immediately. Being digital means that Xray files can be examined in our software systems and also communicated directly to referring vets as we diagnose your pet’s condition.

ULTRASOUND

Ultrasonography is invaluable to veterinary medicine. The AAPS vet clinic has a portable in house ultrasound machine which enables us to perform a non-invasive examination of your pet’s internal organs. This ultrasound technology is frequently used to examine the gastro intestinal system for blockages as well as several vital organs including the liver, spleen, kidneys and bladder.

IN-HOUSE PATHOLOGY

Our clinicians are committed to providing clients and patients with the highest possible standard of care and that includes using our sophisticated range of onsite diagnostic equipment to quickly and accurately diagnose conditions.

Our onsite pathology services enable us to take a sample from your pet and get an efficient definitive result. Our blood analysis facilities are invaluable where rapid diagnosis can result in a more positive prognosis as well as in cutting through red tape when performing routine pre-anaesthetic blood tests.

Our in-house pathology services can be used to diagnose a wide range of ailments including:

  • Pre-anaesthetic blood testing
  • Feline AIDS
  • Heartworm disease in dogs
  • Heart disease
  • Pancreatitis
  • Kidney disease
  • Liver disease
