Wren

Foster-to-adopt

Darling Wren, just like her friend Fox, has come a very long way from the timid, shut down girl who needed to be carried around the shelter as she was too scared to walk.

Many of you may have seen Wren with her fellow shelter pals Fox and Fawn (who has thankfully found a forever home!) – she had originally come from a puppy farm in NSW living in awful conditions and was understandably very shut down and depressed, but what a marvelous transformation each of these dogs have made since then!

Wren isn’t quite as confident as Fox, however she is growing in confidence more and more every day. We are so incredibly proud of how far this darling girl has come!

The oldest of the 3, Wren lived the longest in the poor living conditions of the puppy farm, so it is no surprise that she is taking a bit longer to adjust to all the changes in her life. She has been doing so well with her leash walking, and thankfully hasn’t needed to be carried around by our staff for over a week now! As you can imagine, she is still learning how to navigate this big, strange world and is looking for a patient and loving family who will hold her paw (so to speak) through her transition into a home environment. We keep seeing snippets of the beautiful, friendly and loving girl she truly is underneath her shy exterior – and we know she will continue to blossom more and more in the right home.

Based on her behavior in the shelter, we believe she would be best suited to a home with an older, calm and well socialised dog who will help show her the ropes. She is not overly playful, so a calm pup who was happy to co-exist alongside her would be ideal!

She would be best suited to a home with dog-savvy teenage kids or with adults only. She is starting to play more with our staff and become much more confident meeting people, but she will need a patient family who will help her develop at her own pace.

Fox will be foster-to-adopt as her desexing has been delayed for a few more months until she is at the ideal weight and body condition.
