Spirit

Some of you may remember Spirit, the incredibly sweet and extra-special kitty who was very stressed and sick boy when he came into our care from a rural pound 6 weeks ago.

He was so weak and was refusing to eat – so one of our amazing foster carers stepped in to take him home and nurse him back to health. We are very happy to say that he is now completely unrecognisable and is now a happy-go-lucky kitty with his whole life ahead of him!

In foster care, once he started to feel better and get some food in his belly, he didn’t take long to start showing off just how sweet and loving he truly is. For the most part he is a pretty laid back kinda dude who LOVES to be with his humans. Since he has been back in the shelter, he makes it very clear how enthusiastic he is about greeting new friends by smooshing his adorable fluffy cheeks into the door of his pen when you walk by!

He’s a total lap cat and would be very happy to share the couch (and bed!) with you any chance he gets. Being such a young kitty, he has plenty of daily zoomies sessions and loves chasing his toys around the house.

Spirit has FIV, but he is such a friendly boy, and he loves the company of other furry friends. He could quite happily live with other cats or even cat-friendly-dogs (he got along great with the puppy in his foster home!) however, it is recommended that any other cats in the home are also FIV+.

Spirit loves his daily brushing sessions and adores his pats. He would be well suited to a family with cat-savvy kids or even a household with one or two people looking for a best friend to share their days with. As long as he is getting plenty of love and attention, he is a happy boy!

Spirit had 2 neurological episodes (wobbly walking, head tilt and inappetence) in the care of AAPS which our vets were not able to find a specific diagnosis or cause for, however he has otherwise been completely healthy with further issues noted. He is a special boy, and we are looking for a home that will accept and love him for who he is. <3
