Lil’ Honey

Little Honey (we affectionately call her to distinguish her from the other larger breed Honey we also have listed for adoption) is just as sweet as her name suggests – this girl is totally gorgeous!

She is and active, super friendly, social and confident young lady who can’t wait to have a second chance at a wonderful life!

She is a bouncy girl, but she is very clever and with some consistent training, she will continue to learn how to greet her human friends more calmly and respectfully. Once she is comfortable with you, though, she is such a lovely companion and LOVES a belly rub.

She loves her treats and food-based enrichment puzzles and toys. She would love a home where her humans gave her plenty of tasks to keep her clever brain stimulated, and who wanted to take her on plenty of adventures with them to keep her body active too!

Honey gets along well with other doggies, and could live with another young and playful pup in her forever home as long as they were well matched in personality. She can sometimes show signs of “barrier reactivity” when she is on the lead or behind a fence and she sees another dog, but we assume this is just from frustration and wanting to play, as she is very playful and friendly when she meets her doggy friends.

Because she’s a bouncy girl, she would be best suited to a home with kids over the age of 10 who are confident with energetic doggies.

She came into our care with a terrible cough, and we have come to realise that she has tracheal damage from her previous life – likely from too much pressure from tight collars. She has been assessed by a specialist who has confirmed that although she does wheeze, her condition is stable and doesn’t require any further medical intervention at this stage.
