Jager The Brave!

Jager is a friendly but shy boy who’s still learning that new people can be safe. When someone enters the room he may bark out of nerves, but his body language tells the real story, he wants to interact, he just needs a moment to feel brave. Once another dog approaches to greet you, Jager gains confidence and is much more willing to come forward himself. He’s a sweetheart at heart, just a little unsure of the world.

On the lead, Jager walks fairly well, though he’ll benefit from continued practice and reassurance. He’s a vocal dog who expresses his feelings through barking, especially when he’s anxious or uncertain. In new or busy environments he can become a bit stressed, sometimes digging at doors or barking to cope. With structure, patience, and confidence‑building training, he’ll learn healthier ways to settle and feel secure.

Jager can no longer be placed in a home with another dog. He is very under‑socialised in dog‑to‑dog behaviour and is not dog‑social at this stage. When he encounters other dogs, he will bark and appear unsure, and he needs ongoing support focused on reactive‑dog behaviour to help him feel more secure. The only possible exception is Malibu, the dog he originally came in with, as their existing familiarity may allow for a carefully managed placement together.

Because he’s timid and easily startled, Jager is best suited to a home with older kids 15+ who can give him space when he needs it. He’ll also require a secure property, as anxious dogs can look for escape routes if fencing isn’t solid. With patience, training, and a supportive environment, Jager has all the potential to grow into a loyal, affectionate companion who just needed someone to believe in him. Think this could be you?
