He loves being around people and thrives on interaction, but the shelter environment has been stressful for him, so he’s looking for a calm, understanding home where he can decompress and feel safe. He communicates clearly through his body language and may be unsure with handling at first, so he’ll need adopters who value gentle, reward‑based training and are happy to build trust at his pace.

When out walking, Jack can be reactive on lead, especially toward cars, bikes, and fast‑moving things, and he may lunge when he feels overwhelmed. He needs someone with patience, consistency, and a genuine interest in training a reactive dog. The great news is that Jack is very food‑motivated and responds beautifully to positive reinforcement, making him an excellent candidate for progress. Jack is an active little dog who enjoys getting out and about, and for his size he’s quite strong on the lead. He absolutely lights up when toys come out, playtime is one of his favourite ways to bond and burn energy. He can be a bit nervous during vet visits, but with slow introductions, reassurance, and positive handling experiences, he’s learning that new situations don’t have to be scary.

Because he’s still working on feeling comfortable with handling, reactivity, and new experiences, Jack is best suited to a dog‑only, cat‑free home in a quieter area with low dog traffic. He’s good with respectful children who understand boundaries and would thrive with a family who enjoys training, structure, and celebrating small wins.
