Fern

Fern is a beautiful, squishy-faced giant baby who cannot wait to find the forever home of her dreams!

She came to us from a rural NSW pound, and although we don’t know much about her history, you can tell within moments of meeting her that she is just a gentle giant with the kindest, calmest temperament. She loves spending quality time with her humans, and is not an overly energetic girl, but enjoys a gentle stroll and a few little play sessions here and there.

She is incredibly friendly and cuddly, and could happily live alongside dog-savvy kids, ideally over the age of 8 purely due to her size – but could live with younger children if they are confident with big dogs.

She isn’t a fan of bouncy and boisterous dogs who try to get all up in her face. She would happiest being your one and only furry friend!

She has some arthritis already (possibly due to poor nutrition through her early life, as she also come into our care underweight) so she is looking for a home without big flights of stairs to climb. She has begun a series of cartrophen injections at our vet that her new family will need to continue on a semi-regular basis (every few months) in order to relieve any pain associated with her arthritis. She will also need to come back to our clinic for a dental procedure, (covered by AAPS), so her family will need to live within a reasonable travel distance of our shelter so that she can be transported to and from her appointment.
